Rondo: A pleasant land
 for
Tourism.
All what you would need once you reach the Southern regions of Tanzania,and particularly Lindi Region,
is to visit a very famous
and attractive, ever known and ever seen land full of tourist attractions,
RONDO PLATEAU. The plateau is situated 19 kilometers
away Northward from Lindi-Masasi Highway.
It consists of nine "ujamaa"vilages namely,Mkanga(II),Mnara,Mtene,Mitanga,Ntauna,Chiponda,Chiodya and Mihanga.
The plateau is well known for its vast evergreen natural reserved forest
full of varieties of plant and animal species ranging from microscopic to giant wild beasts and trees.Thie
huge forest reserve of more than 133 hectares(roughly) with multiplicity of
living creatures is a pride of Rondo and her natives. Many species of animals
including enormous wild beasts like lion,elephant,buffalo,rhinos and many
others live in the forest.
  
Different birds butterfly and other fling insect species
reside in the forest as well.
The plentiful and continuous availability of water and
pastures make the animals to remain in the forest throughout a year and
multiply.
This increases tourist attraction and thus a good number of
visitors come to Rondo to enjoy the wanders The Forest is
a few meters away from Ntene Village.
The green cover which deploys all over the plateau with its diversity makes the
landscape look very beautiful and thus making it
to be one of the NATURAL WANDERS OF TANZANIA!
A buffalo
Not only does this vast forest give a pleasant
area and surrounding to live but also has a number of benefits to the natives of Rondo;
it has a varieties of hardwood and softwood trees both of which are useful for furniture
making, construction of
buildings and other similar purposes. Following to this, many investors from within and outside the country come
to Rondo for investment purposes.
This increases the economic welfare of Rondo natives, a thing to be proud

Apart
from tourist attractions ,The forest produces the best quality softwood and
hardwood timbers from canopy mahogany ,pine trees and other trees of similar
type.These timbers are very useful and play an important role in
building construction,fibreboard making,papermills,matches furnitures and many
other uses you can think of.This has resulted into many investors from different parts
to plant their sawmill industries and thus providing mass employment to Rondo
natives
The rapid increase of tourists and investors make rondo to
be one of the best trade centres in Lindi Region.
Following
to this very fertile land, agricultural activities are a common place, and never
had it happened that the natives have had starved for hunger, but instead,
Rondo
has been a leading land to support hunger victims from neighboring and distant
villages.
Apart from the above mentioned splendids,there is a very
deep wide crater commonly called "Shimo La Mungu",which normally makes the new
comers take a very deep breath once they come close to it. It is situated
close to St.Cyprians College and Rondo Junior Seminary. At very extreme down,
varieties of animals including leopards, pigs and lion live
  
birds can also be seen flying above the deep crater.You
can can enjoy sitting under very cool evergreen leaves with attractive
breeze,and casting your eyes on this almost end less crater,decorated by
flying and singing birds
